  • While I was the Chief Org & People Officer at Girl Scouts of Northern California and leading our diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging initiatives, I contacted Dr. Tolentino to develop and facilitate a 90-minute online workshop with our 150+ staff on how to navigate anxiety at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic while also processing the aftermath of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Brionna Taylor's (and so many Black lives) murders in the summer of 2020. Dr. Tolentino provided guided meditation, educated the staff on how anxiety can show up in our bodies and its impact, and provided coping strategies to allow our staff to practice their own self-care and wellness while everyone was sheltered-in-place. Dr. Tolentino provided a very intentional and wellness workshop for our team and was wonderful to work with. She was very knowledgeable, empathetic, and provided a much needed virtual space at such an uncertain and stressful point in time. I highly recommend her as a wellness facilitator for your next team gathering!

  • The workshop, "Filipinx American Ecological Processes (FAEP) Model In Action: Beyond Self-Care to Collective Resiliency" on FAEP was a breath of fresh air! Although I am not Filipina, the model easily applied to me as a 1.5 generation immigrant of the Asian diaspora. I've always been a fan of the Brofenbrenner ecological model but the FAEP adapted version fits so well for those of us from collectivist-group-centered communities. There's a lot of gold in our shared experiences and the FAEP highlights that and more!

  • Dr. Tolentino and I co-facilitated a training on self care through the lens of ecological systems theory at Frog Design. Dr. Tolentino is a strong communicator who breaks down complex topics in a way that not only makes them accessible, but also relevant. Her intellectual curiosity is contagious and her compassion allows her to forge meaningful connections with others, be it one-on-one or in a large lecture hall. She is an invaluable colleague to whom I regularly look for guidance.
